The international conference on current trends in the theory and practice of informatics, SOFSEM 2000, took place from 25 November to 2 December 2000 at the Devět Skal Hotel in the Czech-Moravian Highlands, Czech Republic. This marked the 27th annual meeting in the SOFSEM series, which has been held in the Czech or Slovak Republic since its inception in 1974.
