'Border poetics' offers strategies for analyzing both failed and successful crossings of territorial or symbolic borders. This collection of essays examines the relationship between these crossings and the ongoing creation and renegotiation of borders through representation. It aims to identify key processes of border formation and permeability in contemporary societies, exploring the possibilities and limitations of these strategies through theoretical essays and close readings of bordering actions and experiences. The essays address significant political, national, cultural, and aesthetic frontiers in literature, film, and art, arguing for the deep connection between borders, mobility, memory, and narrative.
