The collective monograph Identity, Tradition and Revitalization of American Indian Culture is dedicated to the current issue of revitalization of traditional culture and art of American Indians. Particular attention is focused on the concept of native identity and the question of how Native Americans are free to develop traditional culture in a modern and increasingly globalized society. Among the main themes of the book are an analysis of the impact of modern and postmodern civilization on Native American cultures and an examination of the processes and mechanisms by which American Indian cultural heritage and ethnic identity are currently being preserved or lost.
