This encyclopaedia tells the story of the people and landscape of Britain. It transports readers back to the earliest Stone Age cave-dwellers and Roman settlers, and leads them them through the centuries of invasion, exploration, reformation and industrial revolution, before bringing them up-to-date with a look at British government and society in the 21st century. The book is arranged thematically and aims to bring the people and events to life and set them in a historical context. It includes a reference section of key dates, event and places in British history and should be a useful reference tool for the National Curriculum.
