This volume presents the major outcomes of the third edition of the Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers Conference (FOHE-BPRC 3), held from 27-29 November 2017. It emphasizes the importance of ongoing dialogue between researchers and decision-makers, leveraging prior experiences to allow the higher education community to contribute to the 2018-2020 European Higher Education Area (EHEA) priorities. The FOHE-BPRC has become a significant event in the European higher education landscape, with previous editions attracting around 200 participants from over 50 countries each. These conferences have facilitated consistent dialogue between researchers and policymakers, with main conclusions presented at EHEA Ministerial Conferences in 2012 and 2015, amplifying researchers' voices in European policy discussions. This volume aims to continue gathering evidence and promoting research-based policymaking, addressing the gap between policy and research in the EHEA and globally. It seeks to identify research areas needing attention before the 2020 EHEA Ministerial Conference, focusing on emerging issues within the academic community. Additionally, it provides a platform for discussions among researchers, higher education stakeholders, decision-makers, and the public. The book is published under an open access CC BY license.
