Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia can be without a doubt called a spa empire. This publication is the third one in the 'Wonders' series. It will take us on a tour round the Czech Republic to learn about the some former and, most importantly, present spas. The history of spas in this country has a long tradition - the first documented mention about healing waters springs dates as early as the 12th century. Let's set out on a trip. First to the west of Bohemia to visit the famous spa triangle of Spa Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Spa Mariánské Lázně and Spa Františkovy Lázně. By the time we reach the last pages, we will have travelled all over the country and learnt about Spa Kynžvart, Jáchymov, Janské Lázně, Vráž, Karlova Studánka, Velké Losiny, Bochoř, Luhačovice and many others. A stay in a spa does not mean treatments only - often it is connected to various cultural and social activities and to venturing out into the surrounding areas.
