Designed for the basic oral communication (public speaking) course offered by career schools and community colleges. Students learn to research,prepare and present speeches,overcome nervousness,practice voice skills as well as rhetorical skills,and learn about the various styles of speeches (i. e. persuasive,comparative),word choice,and tailoring a speech to meet audience needs and expectations. Covers basic oral communication skills for courses that concentrate on the speaking aspects of business communication (rather than on business writing). Its focus is on helping students gain the confidence and skills to speak effectively in public,both in school and on the job.
