This collection was compiled by Victor Serebriakov, one of the world's great puzzlemasters. It is absolutely NOT just a collection of assorted puzzles. It is a structured and graded obstacle course of quite fiendish difficulty. (Victor himself writes in the introduction that he is a 'self-confessed sadist'.) To make the task even worse there is a time allowance for each puzzle and you cannot rely entirely on genetic advantage - you have to fill in the IQ test before you start, and if you do well you will find yourself handicapped!
