Building on the successful City Guide series, Jarrold Publishing are pleased to announce the latest addition to the range, London. This attractive pictorial guidebook provides everything visitors need to enjoy a day trip or longer break in England's capital, with full details of all the major attractions, superb colour photography and detailed maps. This book represents a new development in the City Guide format, with a greater extent and a fresh, updated design. The guide opens with a brief history of the city from Roman times to the present. The rest of the book is divided clearly into short sections covering major attractions and popular areas of London including The Thames, Royal London, The City of London, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's and Covent Garden. There are also sections covering Museums, Markets and Events. A useful section giving further information (contact details, opening times etc) is included at the end of the book, and informative panels throughout give interesting asides on London characters from the past and other fascinating London facts. photography that Jarrold have made their trademark, along with a useful underground map and two beautiful illustrative maps of attractions along the River Thames that can be reached in a day's walking.
