To become a survivor could happen to just anyone at any time. To me it happened. I am a survivor of the Tsunami. It all occurred one beautiful day in a place called Phi-Phi Island. Try to imagine being hit all of a sudden by a series of powerful waves destroying everything on their path and carrying away all your belongings and what is important to you: your beloved ones, your friends you play with day after day, the place you work and even the photographs of your life. You become deprived of everything, including what you have built step by step. This is exactly the experience I went through and which I describe in this book. I also gathered a number of stories of those who witnessed the tragic event on Phi-Phi Island that day and which are important to giving you a complete picture of exactly how dramatic that event has been. We will never ever be able to forget those terrible moments. We saw just about everything that is contained in a catastrophic event. Some of us have the heart with a scar which can never be cured. This book is not only a collection of tragic stories. My life up to that day was beautiful. I would say it was almost perfect. I included many beautiful anecdotes, since life nevertheless has to go on in the hope that something beautiful will happen again.
