A dysfunctional book club must unite when one of their members goes missing in this engaging mystery. Recently relocated to Cornwall, Nova Davies established the book club to impress her new colleagues at the community center, but it has turned into a fiasco. Compounding her troubles, six thousand pounds is stolen from the center during a meeting, jeopardizing her job and the institution itself. Suspicion for the theft quickly falls on Michael, a fellow member, especially after the body is discovered at his residence and he goes missing. While the police assume he has fled, the other members have their own theories.
