The Illuminati Conspiracy

Więcej o książce

Richard Machen, an American naval lieutenant in the English navy, and English heiress Jane Ashford find themselves entangled in a dangerous plot during Napoleonic Europe. On his way to visit his Welsh grandparents before sailing to Boston after the "Battle of the Nile," Richard and Jane inadvertently become part of a conspiracy involving Colonel Despard, an Irishman of French descent, who is orchestrating a radical plan to assassinate the King of England and establish a republic. This plot is manipulated by the Illuminati, a secret society that previously instigated the French Revolution and seeks to regain control of France from Napoleon Bonaparte, who aims to invade England and conquer Europe. As Richard and Jane thwart Despard's assassination attempt, he and his co-conspirators are tried for treason and executed, largely due to Lord Nelson's non-intervention. However, the Illuminati's ambitions persist, fueled by Conor Macnamara, an Irish revolutionary and Illuminati member seeking revenge against Nelson for his brother's death. With the fate of England hanging in the balance, a decisive naval battle looms in the Bay of Trafalgar. Will Richard uncover the Illuminati's secrets and help avert disaster, shaping the course of history in the process?
