Filmmaker/author's statement on the back cover:'In the spring of 1986, Ludmila Ignatenko is 23 years old, in love with Vasili and five months pregnant. They live in Pripyat, the newly built town beside the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Vasili is a fireman, Ludmila works at the "Kitchen" factory. On the night of the 25th of April, Vasili is scrambled. "The nuclear power plant is burning. Go to sleep. I'll wake you when I come home", he says to Ludmila.'This book contains her story.
