Adrian Luchini's primary program is the persistent attempt to create space out of expressive and almost physically gestural lines that are clearly the lines of a freehand draftsman. Again and again in his drawings and built work, a nervous or taut bundle of individual lines coalesces into spatial figures and conjures spaces with ephemeral boundaries simultaneously from air and in air. One has the sense that Luchini attempt to draw in space and to create space by the physical act of drawing.
