This abundantly illustrated monograph tells the story of modern furniture in Czechoslovakia and the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, from the first half of the nineteenth century (the Biedermeier period) to the late twentieth century. The book offers a comprehensive overview of the modern history of furniture in this region against the backdrop of significant developments in the field worldwide.
