In 2015 the European Architectural Photography Prize“architekturbild” is awarded for the eleventh Since1995 it has been awarded on a two-yearly basis for a different topic and since 2008 in cooperation with theDeutsches Architekturmuseum Frankfurt (German ArchitectureMuseum) in Frankfurt. From the international submissions,the jury chose the 28 best ones on this year’s topic which was “neighbourhood”. Here, neighbourhood literally means spatial contiguity. And neighbourhood can at the same time be very welcome but also very annoying. In the countryside the nearest neighbour may well live one or two miles away, but in the city only a wall separates them. But not only people, also buildings and, in general terms, thingscan be neighbours – at a distance or very close to eachother, in harmony or in discordance.
