Glucagon

Its Role in Physiology and Clinical Medicine

Więcej o książce

The growing interest in glucagon among diabetologists led to the decision to hold a satellite symposium after the IX Congress of the International Diabetes Federation. The choice of Srinagar, with its picturesque canals, lakes, mountains, and friendly people, made the location appealing. Initial concerns about transportation and housing were resolved surprisingly easily, as if the warmth of New Delhi and Srinagar melted away the logistical challenges. Gratitude is extended to the Executive Council and the Scientific Program Advisory Committee of the Congress, as well as to the local committee led by Drs. Ali Mohammed Jan and S. N. Ahmed Shah, and the Organizing Secretary, Dr. Syed Zahoor Ahmed. Acknowledgment is also due to the joint Secretary, Dr. M. Y. Alvi; Secretary of the Scientific Session, S. N. Dhar; and committee members Drs. G. Q. Allaqband, Wm. Riberio, Girja Dhar, J. A. Naqashbandi, and Messrs. D. P. Zutshi, K. Amla, and Ajit Singh. Special thanks to His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, for his interest and the warm hospitality extended by his people. The input from colleagues was invaluable in selecting topics and speakers for a program that was representative rather than comprehensive.
