This book shares the author's experiences with languages and how they have shaped her identity. Inspired by her dedication to foreign language teaching and her impactful experience teaching English to immigrants in the U.S., she decided to write autobiographical stories reflecting her multilingual life. Through her exploration of linguistics, psychology, anthropology, and sociolinguistics, she recognized the disconnect between language learners and existing research. As a Russian immigrant, the author uses storytelling to help her ESL students grasp the realities of language acquisition and acculturation.
