This book describes the changes that have happened in various regions of Russia, city agglomerations, and other cities in the last two institutions of the local authorities, structure of small business, social networks, including ethnic ones, non-material assets and positive externalities. The authors offer a new language and new approach to the study of "small" spaces called "endogenous". They also suggest to reinterpret the three main categories used in Russian regional studies, economico-geographic location, territorial structure, economic region, in favor of categories of endogenous approach and methods of study.
