Henry Patrick Raleigh (1880-1944) was an influential American illustrator whose work captured the essence of the Gatsby era. Rising from a school dropout at age 12 to a celebrated illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post within two decades, he became one of the highest-paid artists in the U.S. during his nearly forty-year career. Raleigh created iconic World War I propaganda posters and was a leading story illustrator of the Jazz Age. By age 43, he had produced an astounding 20,000 illustrations, making him one of the most prolific commercial artists of his time.
