Jedi Master Mace Windu embarks on a perilous mission to a remote planet, driven by Qui-Gon Jinn's last request. The Jedi are still reeling from Qui-Gon's unexpected death at the hands of a Sith, leaving Mace grappling with complicated feelings about his fallen friend. The surviving inhabitants now live underground, where rival clans vie for scarce resources. Qui-Gon had previously protected the Sa'ad farming clan, who practice dream-weaving to communicate with the wild creatures around them. With Qui-Gon's promise to return unfulfilled, Mace must step in to help. The Sa'ad's leader, KinShan Nightbird, pleads for the Jedi's assistance against the crime lords threatening her people's existence. As Mace infiltrates the enemies of the Sa'ad, he navigates a complex web of adversaries and allies, pushing the limits of the Jedi code and challenging his beliefs about the Force.
