Vicki was tired of the endless statistics about infections and deaths in various countries, as well as images of empty skies and deserted places. She found the sight of Italians singing from balconies and people wearing masks equally monotonous. The collection presents a series of short, impactful scenes where characters face stark dilemmas stemming from the pandemic. Father Andre grapples with whether to falsely accuse a hoarder, while Murry Morgen contemplates accepting a neighbor's gesture during isolation. Charlotte Ponting considers a bribe to remove her name from a 'Track and Trace' list. The pandemic elicits a range of emotions: Lyndi, with her dark sunglasses, resembles a disabled aerobics instructor, while Kenton feels overwhelmed by the chaos of his home. Tensions escalate when Mirsam's father threatens her, disrupting the serenity of their surroundings. For some, the crisis presents opportunities, as Nick Hadley revels in the benefits of the pandemic, while for others, it signifies tragedy, as Henry mourns the loss of his wife after a moment of celebration. Each story captures the surreal essence of the pandemic experience, exemplified by Gavin Sinclair's frustration during a virtual concert. This is undoubtedly one of the strangest pandemics in history.
