Eleven-year-old twins Oliver and Celia Navel could care less about adventure and they really do not like excitement. They’d rather be watching television. Unfortunately for them, their thrill-seeking parents have dragged them from continent to continent their entire lives. But when their mother goes missing and their father makes a bet with the devious explorer Sir Edmund, the twins are forced into action. They head to Tibet where they fall out of airplanes, battle Yetis, poison witches, and encounter one very large yak. If they can unravel the mysteries and outwit Sir Edmund, they might just make the discovery of a lifetime . . . and get cable television!

Knox was born into one of the City’s wealthiest families. A Patron, he has everything a boy could possibly want—the latest tech, the coolest clothes, and a Proxy to take all his punishments. When Knox breaks a vase, Syd is beaten. When Knox plays a practical joke, Syd is forced to haul rocks. And when Knox crashes a car, killing one of his friends, Syd is branded and sentenced to death. Da ihre Eltern am Nordpol quasi tiefgefroren wurden, liegt es mal wieder an Oliver und Celia, die Welt zu retten. Sir Edmund und ein beunruhigend hungriger Eisbär sind ihnen dabei dicht auf den Fersen. Zum Glück kommen den Kindern einige Käsebällchen und ein Mann, der behauptet, der Weihnachtsmann zu sein, zu Hilfe.
