Tragiczne wydarzenie splata historie kilkorga bohaterów, z których każdy uwikłany jest w trujące relacje. Rzecz dzieje się w Warszawie. Córka truje ojca, Sąsiadka zatruwa życie sąsiadowi, a powstaniec warszawski - młodej dziennikarce. A wszystko z miłości - w przekonaniu trucicieli oczywiście. Osobnym bohaterem "Toksymii" jest język. Zderzając przemoc i biedę warszawskiej Pragi ze światem snu, posłużyła się estetyką onirycznego studium obcości. Sparodiowała przy tym medialny obraz wykluczenia. Przybliżając go w soczewce, osiągnęła efekt groteski, której siła już dawno nie była słyszana w polskiej prozie.
