We have entered the Anthropocene era—a geological age shaped by human activity, necessitating a new understanding of our relationship with nature. This collection explores the Anthropocene through three perspectives: the particulate, the volatile, and the radiant. The first three volumes focus on these textures, featuring paired texts where contemporary writers respond to historical works. The granular volume highlights how small materials aggregate into complex forms, with Robert Smithson comparing thought accumulation to sediment. Other contributors include Alfred Russel Wallace and Georges Bataille. The vapor volume examines transformations of matter, featuring a political scientist's analysis of Kafka's “Odradek” alongside responses to Buckminster Fuller’s work, with contributions from Hippocrates and Italo Calvino. The ray volume discusses the interdependencies between energy and matter, including texts by Spinoza and Jacques Lacan, along with interpretations from contemporary thinkers. Together, these volumes represent a unique experiment in design and content, blending various fields of knowledge to reflect the dynamics of a changing world.
