    Elvis at 21 [Limited Edition]

In 1956, twenty-one-year-old Elvis Presley was on the cusp of an extraordinary career, and photographer Alfred Wertheimer was commissioned by RCA Victor to capture the rising star. With unrestricted access, Wertheimer documented intimate, everyday moments in Elvis' life during a pivotal year that propelled him from Tupelo, Mississippi, to the brink of international fame as "The King of Rock 'n' Roll." His photographs, taken in 1956 and again in 1958, are spontaneous and devoid of artifice, showcasing an almost ethereal Elvis—whether he’s reading a newspaper while waiting for a cab or washing his hands during train trips. After Elvis’ induction into the army in 1958, Wertheimer's remarkable images faded from public memory for nearly two decades until Elvis' death on August 16, 1977, reignited interest. Wertheimer noted, “The phone hasn’t really stopped ringing in the last thirty years.” Many of these previously unpublished photographs have become iconic in their own right. This limited edition, with only 1,500 copies, is presented in a clamshell box featuring a signed photograph and contact sheet, a clothbound portfolio with four limited edition prints (11 x 14), and a special edition of Elvis Ships Out, a keepsake archive of Elvis' military service.
