This is one of a series of activity/observation game picture books focusing on a single day in a busy place. This book is set at the harbour, where people come and go, and lots of different things happen. At the back of the book are some fold-out flaps with lists of puzzles to solve on every page.

A troupe of performing mice escape into a hotel lobby and proceed to wreak havoc all over the hotel. With each spread of Dupasquier's detailed drawings, particular areas of interest are pinpointed by questions on the whereabouts of key characters. This helps children follow the various storylines.

Told in the first person by two young boys, this story relates their identical experiences . . . with very different results. The text appears in the middle of the page, and two sets of pictures, above and below, show the same actions in two very different cultures: a small African village and a modern suburban setting. . . . Mademoiselle Mirabelle, notre institutrice, est arrivée tel un ange. Un ange avec des cheveux dorés, des petites cloches aux oreilles et des chaussures très hautes et très vertes. Elle n'a pas du tout plu à notre directrice, Madame Poivre. Pour la journée Portes ouvertes, nous étions la seule classe à n'avoir rien préparé. Madame Poivre était si contrariée que Mademoiselle Mirabelle lui a dit un énorme mensonge... Après ça, la classe était bien embêtée. Heureusement, un des garçons a eu une idée tellement originale, tellement extraordinaire, que tot le monde sera sauvé. Heureusement surtot que Flossie la vache, son amie, fait de merveilleuses crêpes des champs, brunes, odorantes et bien fumantes... Une histoire d'un humour savoureux.
