This volume features a selection of papers from the GAMM/IFIP Workshop on Stochastic Optimization: Numerical Methods and Technical Applications, held at the Federal Armed Forces University Munich from May 29-31, 1990. The workshop aimed to unite scientists from Stochastic Programming and various engineering disciplines where Mathematical Programming models are commonly used, such as optimal structural design, power dispatch, and acid rain abatement.
