This book aims to provide an overview of music therapy training programs in Europe, offering detailed insights into their structure and content across various countries. It maps all 119 European music therapy training programs, including an appendix with information on tuition fees and links to each course. The book highlights ten selected programs from Vienna, Leuven, Aalborg, Paris, Augsburg, Ferrara, Liepaja, Katowice, Barcelona, and Roehampton, chosen to represent different regions of Europe—North, Middle, and South—according to EMTC’s organizational structure. It encompasses diverse music therapy backgrounds, approaches, and institutional developments, as well as varying healthcare systems and legal recognition statuses. Each chapter follows a common framework, detailing theoretical backgrounds, admission procedures, and the structure of the training program, with a focus on clinical training, internships, musical training, experiential learning, and music therapy self-experience. Evaluation procedures concerning teaching quality are also addressed. The concluding section offers insights and reflections from the editors, summarizing the curricula discussed in previous chapters.
