Więcej o książce

The third volume of the Critical Hybrid Edition presents a newly revised text of Bezruč's only collection, featuring a comprehensive digital scholarly edition with all variants of the poems. The book is based on the December 1928 version of Silesian Songs, representing the most extensive form of the collection before the author's revisions that led to artistic degradation. Poems not included in the main edition are featured in the commentary. The digital edition includes images and transcriptions of all relevant manuscripts, previously reproduced selectively, as well as the versions of journal prints before the poems were compiled into the book. It encompasses poems from the first collection, Sileské číslo (1903), to the last edition (1958) in which the author participated. Changes in the composition of the collection, which expanded from fewer than thirty poems to nearly triple that number, are documented in a separate overview. The edition also summarizes the life history and publishing history of Silesian Songs, accompanied by extensive documentary material and editorial commentary focused on the text's history.
