The Sleepwalkers

Więcej o książce

From 'one of the UK's most interesting authors' (Kirkus Reviews), this surprising and suspenseful modern gothic tale follows a couple escaping their secretive pasts and present dangers while honeymooning on a Greek island. After the chaos of their wedding, Evelyn and Richard arrive at the Villa Rosa, a tiny hotel, just as a storm approaches. Feeling insecure amidst the glamorous guests—models and musicians—Evelyn grows wary of Isabella, the hotel owner, who seems fixated on Richard and disapproves of Evelyn's requests. Isabella is also captivated by the story of 'the sleepwalkers,' a couple who drowned during a previous stay. What initially appears eccentric soon spirals into a living nightmare. When the storm separates Evelyn and Richard, they confront dark truths about themselves. Their confessions regarding their relationship's origins and their past may hold the key to their survival. Exhilarating, suspenseful, and subversively funny, this story explores urgent themes of relationships, sexuality, and the hidden darkness of contemporary society, where our most terrible secrets lie in plain sight.
