Junior Bender, a Los Angeles burglar turned off-the-books detective, is hired by Irwin Dressler, a notorious geriatric mobster, to investigate a troubling situation involving a national tour of aging rock bands. This tour, featuring musicians from the 1960s and 1970s, has devolved into chaos, marked by long-standing feuds, drug issues, and legal troubles. Two near-fatal incidents raise suspicions of attempted murder, but Dressler's main concern is that someone among his associates is using the tour as a cover to embezzle his money. With the tour now in LA, Junior has just one weekend to uncover the culprit. His task begins ominously with slashed tires, threatening notes, and a mishap during the first concert. Complicating matters, Junior's teenage daughter, Rina, who is increasingly curious about his criminal lifestyle, is along for the ride. As he navigates this dangerous and melodious mess, Junior must recover Dressler's stolen money, prevent further violence, and steer Rina away from a life of crime—all while enduring the cacophony of bad music.
