The narrative follows Marcellus Gallio, a Roman tribune who wins Jesus Christ's robe after the crucifixion, exploring themes of faith, redemption, and spiritual longing. Haunted by his role in Jesus' death, Marcellus experiences a transformation influenced by the robe's perceived power.
