Jesse Rayburn was the all-American kid that had his dreams within sight and in his grasp, only to see them all disappear with his girlfriends pregnancy and the birth of his daughter. Forced to do the right thing and marry, he begins a long, downward spiral that leads to addiction, drug abuse, isolation, violence, and crime. Twenty-five years later, Jesse steps out of prison and begins the process of trying to start his life over.
