Underground Europe
Along Migrant Routes
Więcej o książce
The book draws a compelling analogy between the 19th-century Underground Railroad and contemporary migrant routes in Europe. It begins with a historical exploration of the Underground Railroad's remnants in North America, then transitions to a detailed ethnographic study of various border situations across Europe, highlighting the increasing violence of border regimes. Despite this harshness, it emphasizes migrants' autonomy and the solidarity from local and international groups, proposing an "Underground Europe" as a space of interconnected routes and passages, reshaping the narrative of borders.
