Więcej o książce
Artemis Fowl II, son of a European crime lord, faces turmoil when his father vanishes, taking the family fortune with him, and leaving his mother in a catatonic state. Alongside his friend and bodyguard Butler, Artemis uncovers the existence of fairies and decodes their Book to capture one. He successfully captures LEPrecon officer Captain Holly Short, holding her for ransom. LEPrecon Commander Julius Root learns of this and orchestrates a mission to retrieve Holly, enlisting the help of the dwarf Mulch Diggums to tunnel into Fowl Manor. However, Artemis stays one step ahead, managing to evade capture. In a desperate move, the fairies attempt to stop time and "blue rinse" Fowl's house, a tactic that only affects living beings. Noticing that his mother has escaped the effect due to her condition, Artemis cleverly uses her sleeping pills to slip away, surprising the fairies. He retains the gold intended as a ransom for LEPrecon but decides to exchange half to revive his mother. This innovative tale has been described as a blend of James Bond, Encyclopedia Brown, and Grimms, offering a thrilling plot filled with high-tech weaponry, memorable characters, and sharp humor, making it a highly entertaining read.
